Wilfred Bouma injury video
Wilfred Bouma has suffered a terrible injury during the second leg of the Intertoto Cup final against the Danish side Odense BK. The 30-year-old Dutch defender performed a tackle and his right foot studs remained stuck in the ground while his body remained in motion. The resulting images where terrific, quite similar to what Arsenal’s Eduardo had suffered a few months ago.
Happily Bouma’s right ankle surgery was successful and his ankle dislocation hast started healing. Doctors expect Aston Villa’s defender back on the pitch in 4-6 months.
Aston Villa won the final and qualified for the UEFA Cup after Ashley Young’s superb goal.
