Ryan Shawcross’ tackle was more misguided than vicious, but it’s still the kind of stuff nobody likes to see on the pitch. I feel that he’s honestly sorry for what happened, but still an example must be made out of this case, and harsh punishment should follow.
Aaron Ramsey is 18 years old and blossoming into football and, although these injuries are rarely crippling these days, and the fact that he’s young will help, it’s the greatest shame to see such a young player suffer such hardship.
