Spain is the 4th and last team that obtains tickets for the EURO 2008 semi-finals after a 4-2 penalty shoot-out win against Italy. It was a deserved penalty shoot-out win if you can accept this expression. Spain was the positive side during the game. Aragones’ side attacked from start to finish and Italy preferred to defend and counter-attack.
There where few major scoring chances during the game. Camoranesi missed a big one for Italy while Sena hit the post for Spain and Buffon denied a few other long range shots.
De Rossi and Di Natale missed for Italy during the penalty shoot-out while Buffon parried only Guiza’s shot.
