Real Madrid’s officials, headed by Valdano, had a two-hour-long meeting to decide whether to attempt to transfer another center back to make up for Pepe’s absence in the coming months – Chelsea’s Ricardo Carvalho was one of the names on the table – and have decided against it.
“We have four world class centre backs, including Sergio Ramos. And lets not forget Arbeloa can play there as well”, said a well-placed source in the club, after the meeting.
Real has, however, shown interest in purchasing a full back.
