Real Madrid managed to pass another obstacle in their race for this season’s La Liga title. Espanyol had the better start and opened the score in the 29th minute, after Valdo’s header. It looked like Real where on the way to endanger their top spot in the Primera Division table.
The home team found the power to reply and Higuain kicked the ball into the back of the net with his knee after a superb Marcelo cross. The 72minute was the lucky minute for Real as Raul obtained an arguable penalty from my point of view. The foul started outside of the box and the referee should have awarded a free kick.
