While Roberto Mancini is keen to talk up the strike-force his main rivals have assembled this summer, at no inconsiderable cost, I’m pretty certain that over the course of the season his combination of Aguero, Tevez, Balotelli and Dzeko will prove quite adequate for entertaining the fans and worrying defenders. If you add to that the fact Tevez looks fitter than ever, and Balotelli a much-improved player from last term you’d say City still bring the biggest guns to the fight.
Southampton have made some interesting moves over this summer, and have many eggs in a relatively singular basket, so they’ll be hoping for some instant validation.
