After a dismal performance that saw them lose the early advantage and be beaten in Germany, Man United now host Bayern Munich and will attempt to turn things around.
United will be glad they got the away goal, but that’s pretty much all that they’ll have to be glad about in that match. If they prove as unimaginative as they did in Munich, and if their defense is as leaky and unable to stop Ribery and Robben as it was in the last leg, then United will have serious problems in this match.
Being a goal up and having to face Old Trafford hostility may be too much for some teams, but German juggernauts Bayern Munich have got the mindset to really live up to big games. Based entirely on the performance displayed in the first leg, one would have to say Bayern are favorites for this match, but Fergie’s men will have something in the bag for this one, since, as a sports fan, I refuse to believe United will perform as bad as they did in the last match twice in a row.
