AC Milan were put to shame in this match. An aggregate scoreline of 7-2 leaves no doubt as to who deserved this win.
The game started out even, with chances for both sides, and it was clear from the first moments that Rooney for United and Pilro for Milan were in top form. But it was the Englishman that got the upper hand when, 13 minutes into the match, he headed home an early cross by Neville. Until half-time, the game was still even between the sides, with Milan looking a bit too relaxed with the result and not putting on the pressure it was expected of them.
The second half saw Seedorf go into the match to add to Milan’s offensive power, but Rooney got his second minutes into the half, and the game was over. Pilro would still prove dangerous throughout the second half, and even David Beckam showed some class, but two more goals by Park and Fletcher put the scoreline beyond any doubt.
