Liverpool hammer away at Portsmouth and show there is yet hope for this season.
Liverpool claimed a healthy win over Portsmouth, but above all will be looking gladly at their solid performance. It had been a while since they’d played such involving, attacking football. And the goals came naturally. Around the half hour mark, Liverpool’s Torres, Babel and Aquilani scored three goals to put the game beyond any doubt.
The second half saw Torres score yet another goal, before Belhadj got one back for Portsmouth.
Liverpool are still fifth, with City looming behind them with two games in hand. Portsmouth sink deeper into last place, and even the most hopeful of fans doesn’t believe the club can pull through.
