Inter Milan did their job against CSKA, keeping a clean sheet and taking the win, although minimal.
Saying that Diego Milito’s goal 65 minutes into the match was the difference between the two sides is a bit of an understatement. Although it’s true that CSKA’s first half was textbook in keeping Inter away from their goal by employing one of the most accurate offside traps I’ve ever seen, it’s also true that Inter carried the game on their shoulders and were the most dangerous team.
Come the second half, clearly the half-time team-talks worked wonders for the Italians, who came into the pitch more fiery than ever and got the goal.
Now Inter go to freezing Russia to try to hold on to the win, which they are usually good at.
