Hamburg 3-1 Anderlecht Highlights

by Joao

A conclusive win for Hamburg, leaving Anderlecht with a mountain to climb in the second leg match at home.

Anderlecht wasn’t inferior to their opponent, but Hamburg is rewarded by a greater efficiency in front of goal. Matthijsen with a lucky break from a corner and Van Nistelrooy scored for the Germans in the first half. Hamburg was controlling possession but Anderlecht looked dangerous in the counter-attack and Jonathan Legear managed to grab a goal for the Belgians before half-time.

In the second half, which a lot like the first, a lone goal by Jarolim put the German side 2 goals ahead of their opponent and sealed the scoreline.
