Argentina beat Germany in a nervous match marked by Ballack’s accidental breaking of Martin Demichelis’ cheekbone.
The moment of the match came when Gonzalo Higuain picked up and excellent pass by Di Maria and eased past goalkeeper Rene Adler to pass the ball into an open goal. Argentina were in control of the match and were deserved winners, while Germany showed very little of what their start players are capable of doing and left the stadium under a heavy booing by their fans.
