Spain got the best out of this match and totally overpowered a French side that has to get their act together if they’re to get anything out of the World Cup.
There’s a lot of controversy over national manager Raymond Domenech, and voices were loudly heard throughout the stadium calling for his resignation. And if firing the national coach at this stage may seem like suicide, many French fans claim that keeping him is a suicide of its own.
What France lacked in class, Spain had almost in excess. The mission was accomplished in the first half with goals by David Villa and Sergio Ramos. In the second half, Spain tried some new things and rotated their players, all without losing control of the match, especially in the midfield.
