Urawa Red Diamonds have won the game, counting for the places 3 and 4 at the 2007 Club World Cup. The Japanese side managed to defeat the North African side, Etoile du Sahel, only after a the penalty shoot-out.
Etoile du Sahel opened the score early in the 5th minute after a penalty kick transformed by Frej. Washington scored twice for the Urawa Reds and the home team seemed set to win the match, as Washington’s second goal was registered in the 70th minute.
Chermiti found the equalizer after only 5 minutes and the match went into extra-tme. The score remained unchanged and the penalty shoot-out followed. Urawa Red Diamonds won the shoot-out with 4 – 2 and also won the third place of the tournament.
