Wow.
Chelsea tripped big time in this match. Nobody could have predicted this.
The game started hot with tension between Terry and Bridge. Terry held out his hand, but Bridge left him hanging. But on with the action.
The first half saw Chelsea play very good football and City were left to hold at the back. Mancini’s lads struggled to get the ball forward as Chelsea’s midfield proved too strong for them in this period. It was really no surprise when Lampard scored Chelsea’s opener 42 minutes into the game. But less than 3 minutes later superstar Carlos Tevez pulled a rabbit out of his deep hat and leveled the two sides.
The game took quite the turn for the unexpected in the second half, which practically opened with a goal by Bellamy. Chelsea looked disoriented, especially Anelka who never really got hold of the match. But the final blow for Chelsea came when Belletti was sent off for giving away a penalty, which Carlos Tevez buried past Hilario. Before the end of the match, there was still time for Ballack to be sent off as well and for Bellamy and Lampard to score their second goals of the match.
