Fletcher and Hutton Out for Scotland

Alan Hutton and Darren Fletcher have both pulled out of Scotlands friendly against Japan, leaving the total number of players choosing to sit out this pointless fixture at 10.

Watford’s Don Cowie and Norwich City’s Stephen Hughes have been added – Craig Conway had been called up on Tuesday.

Scott Brown, Shaun Maloney and Steven Naismith pulled out on Tuesday, as did Scott Robertson, only hours after being added to the squad.

Robert Snodgrass, Kevin Thomson, Garry O’Connor and Danny Fox, exited earlier.

England defeat Slovakia 2-1

England is not scheduled for today’s World Cup Qualifiers and Fabio Capello has scheduled a friendly against Slovakia. Beckham and Co need to prove that the February friendly defeat against Spain was just an accident.

Slovakia come after two back to back defeats in the last 2 friendly matches played. They lost 3-2 against Cyprus and Ukraine. This makes us expect many goals tonight at the Wembley.

England and Slovakia last meet in the EURO 2004 Qualifiers. The hosts won both matches with 2-1.
