Manchester United v Wolfsburg Live

by Griff on 30 September, 2009

Manchester Utd host the German champions Wolfsburg tonight. Michael Owen missed training but is believed to be fit enough to play.

Park Ji-Sung has been ruled out with an infection, but Patrice Evra is back and available for selection.

Edwin van der Saar has returned to training but his broken finger is not fulled healed so Ben Foster will remain in goals for the United.

Wolfsburg captain Josue is an injury doubt, having not fully recovered from knee surgery.

Brazilian striker Grafite will start for Wolfsburg, having scored a hat trick in Wolfsburgs first ever Champions League game against CSKA Moscow.

Alex Ferguson commented:

“Ji-sung has a virus, Patrice Evra had it at the weekend. After the Stoke game he felt a bit uneasy – he was in bed on Sunday and didn’t come to training, but he came in for a bit on Monday, came in on Tuesday and he should be all right.

Michael should also be all right for Wednesday.

He had a tight groin in training on Monday, nothing serious. But obviously for the game we didn’t want to be pushing that. Other than that everyone’s fit.”
