Aston Villa 1-2 Man United Highlights

United are crowned Carling Cup Winers for the second year in a row, in an action-packed match well worthy of a Cup final.

Milner opened the scoreline before 5 minutes were up from the penalty spot after Vidic stopped Agbonlahor in the area. Vidic was “lucky”, according to Sir Alex, not to get the red from this tackle, which would probably have accounted for a totally different scoreline by the end of the match.

But the game went on, and 10 minutes after Michael Owen made it all level with a classy finish, which is sure to have impressed Fabio Capello, who was among the VIP crowd in the stadium. Owen would pick up an injury and be replaced by Wayne Rooney, who turned the game around.

Although Owen had a good performance, you can tell Rooney is the real engine behind United, with his incredible ability (and stamina) to be everywhere on the pitch. Although Villa put up a good performance, it was no surprise that United got the lead, with an excellent headed goal by Rooney after a brilliant cross by Valencia.

The goal decided the outcome of the match and United lifted the Carling Cup.
