Villa fail to score and to get the three points at Stoke, and see their league objectives sail away.
It was a poor quality match, both because of the weather conditions – the strong wind that was felt at the stadium greatly damaged the show – and because of both team’s inability to play good football. Stoke will be the happiest in getting this point against a tough team, and Villa has to be disappointed and will have to reconsider their approach to future matches.
