Arsenal came close to disaster at Hull, but Bendtner’s last minute goal saved the day.
Arshavin scored early and Arsenal looked settled for an easy win. But a controversial penalty, conceded by Campbell, saw Hull pull even. And from then on, Hull tightened their lines and sought to hold onto the point. And they would arguably have done it, were it not for Boateng’s sending off. Arsenal piled on the pressure in the final moments, and Bendtner got a goal in injury time.
This result keeps Arsenal as the outside horse in the race for the Championship, while Hull are still in trouble.
