Juventus beat Fulham by a comfortable margin, but the away goal will leave Fulham’s hopes up for the second leg.
Juventus took charge of the game in the first half and looked like they were up to put this match beyond doubt as soon as possible. Playing in front of their fans, Juventus scored before 10 minutes were up, when Nicola Legrottaglie headed in Diego’s corner. Shortly after, Jonathan Zebina extended Juve’s lead to two goals. And before the half was up, David Trezeguet made it 3-0 and gave Juventus a calm lead, that would see them go to England in a relaxed note.
Juventus relaxed the pressure after half-time, clearly thinking about their future games, and Fulham took the opportunity and pulled a goal back. The second leg game should be interesting, considering Fulham’s usual strength at home and their fighting spirit, but I wouldn’t put my money on Fulham just now.
