Netherlands had a good test ahead of the World Cup, beating the USA in a good football match.
Kuyt gave Holland the lead with a spot kick 40 minutes into the match, crowning a first half where The Netherlands kept the ball and moved it around in style, but the Americans showed that they’re no longer the ridiculously naive team they once were, and showed good defensive quality and organization.
The second half rolled by in pretty much the same way, and Huntelaar got a goal in the 73rd minute. By this time both teams were rotating players and trying out different positionings, and Bocanegra, the American captain, got a goal out of a set piece.
An interesting match, and a good test for both teams, although the Americans may still have questions to answer in preparation for South Africa.
