Two penalty goals, by Diamanti and Lampard made the history of this match, with West Ham showing signs that they may be stepping up their game.
The game was otherwise dull, with the teams fitting too tightly in one another and with little room for good football. It can be argued that Chelsea are losing steam in these weeks before Christmas, but this lead did see them increase their lead towards Man United, who lost in this round.
