Liverpool host Birmingham tonight with the influential pair of Fernando Torres and Steven Gerrard both facing late fitness tests. It is believed that Torres is the more likely of the two to make the starting lineup.
Martin Skrtel, Albert Riera and Fabio Aurelio are all likely to return, and Aquilani could finally make his Anfield debut.
Barry Ferguson is suspended after being sent off in injury time against Man City. Garry O’Connor and Keith Fahey are both injury worries, they too will have late fitness tests.
Birmingham will have keeper Joe Hart available after missing the Man City game – he had to sit it out as he was on loan from them and ineligible to play.
Fernando Torres sat out of the Spain v Argentina friendly at the weekend, to allow him to hopefully recover in time to play this evening.
