England travel to Ukraine, having already qualified for the World Cup after an impressive run of 8 straight wins.
Arsenal winger Theo Walcott is not in the square for Ukraine & Belarus, but Gabriel Agbonlahor makes a return in place of Jermain Defoe who is still suffering a hand injury.
Portsmouth’s David James is likely to start in goals as Ben Foster is still injured.
With qualification already guaranteed, Fabio Capello said:
“I will play with the best players 100% in the first half as always. The second half it’s possible I will make some subs. They are not friendly games, they are not experimental games. We have to continue what we have done in qualification.”
Capello has every right to be confident of another 3 points after destroying Croatia 5-1 in their last qualifier.
Ukraine desperately need to beat England – if they fail to do so they will definitely miss out on the World Cup.
With qualification already assured, Michael Carrick may be given a chance to show what he can do, although its likely Capello will not make too many changes.
Ukraine will be without injured defenders Dmytro Chygrynskiy and Andriy Rusol, while Vitaliy Mandzyuk is suspended.
