Finish (edited) keeper Tomi Maanoja suffers nasty leg injury

Tomi Maanoja suffered a nasty leg injury while trying to clear a loose ball. This reminds of the Djibril Cisse, Eduardo or the other ugly injuries. The bad part is that he was involved in some pre-season friendlier (edited) and according to the above images, the medical assistance seemed pretty rudimentary. You are right about the “nasty” bit. I was there, and it was horrific. However, if you don’t mind me correcting you:
1. It was not a 3rd division game. Tomi plays for AIK, Swedens biggest premier division club. AIK played against Arsenal and Barcelona in the CL just a few years ago. This was a pre-season friendly 2 months before the league kicks off (Sweden plays in the summer, not the winter).
2. Tomi is actually Finnish. He is Finlands U21 keeper. Or, at least was.

Tomi Maanoja is a Finnish keeper who is playing in the Swedish league! Not a Swede, he´s one of the most promising Finnish goalkeepers!

No U-21 European championship action for him then. And he’s the one who got them there on penalties in the first place. It ain’t right..
