Barcelona manage to recover from a poor La Liga start and won 3-1 at the Camp Nou against Sporting Lisbon. The first goal came in the 21st minute as Rafael Marquez opened the score with a header. Samuel Eto’o doubled Barcelona’s lead from the penalty spot, one hour into the match.

Tonel managed to pull one back for Sporting Lisbon, but his goal was not enough to change the history of this Champions League Group C match. Xavi Hernandez set the final score in the 87th minute and kept the 3 points in the Catalan capital.
