Liverpool aim for Robbie Keane
Rafa Benitez confirms that Robbie Keane is one of the strikers left as a target for Liverpool. The Reds need to pick a forward as they allowed Peter Crouch to switch to Portsmouth a few days ago.
David Villa, the EURO 2008 top goalscorer seemed favorite to arrive at the Anfield Road, but things took another turn of events. Rafa Benitez announced today that Villa is not a headline anymore and confirmed that Liverpool is interested in Robbie Keane’s services.
Ireland’s 28-year-old national teamplayer is currently playing for Tottenham Hotspur’s. Keane registered since 2002,197 appearances and 80 goals for The Spurs. We will keep you updated if the transfer succeeds.
‘Keane is one of the other names and OK we are still working with other names. We were in contact and we will see now,’ said Benitez.
