Italy defeat France in a comfortable way and qualify for the EURO 2008 quarter-finals from the second spot of the group C. Donadoni’s side managed to win their match with 2-0 and also benefited from Romania’s 2-0 defeat against Netherlands reserve squad.
Andrea Pirlo opened the score from the penalty spot. Abidal was sent off for the foul on Luca Toni that lead to the penalty kick. De Rossi doubled Italy’s lead and sent the World Champions in the quarter-finals where they will face Spain.
