Tunisia and Cameroon quarter-final clash

TunisiaCameroon is the last quarter-final of the CAN 2008 tournament that is scheduled to play today at 21:30 CET. I consider this encounter the match of the day, because the two teams have a similar value from my point of view. We should have a balanced game.
Let me start with a betting tip. My feeling says that this game will need extra-time in order to set the winner. So, I expect a draw after the 90 minutes. I also tip for Cameroon to advance to the next round.
Tunisia vs Cameroon can be seen live online using the peer-to-peer software and the channels provided within this post. The highlights will be also available after the final whistle.
Tunisia have won the Group D, while Cameroon finished second in the Group C. The Tunisian side, although winning their group, they did not accomplish this in a categoric way. Only 5 points in 3 matches for a group winner is not that impressive. On the other side, I still can’t get over that categoric 4 – 2 defeat registered by Cameroon against Egypt. We will see tonight what happens.

First Half Highlights

Another perfect prediction here at the FCFootballBlog. My betting tip presented above in the preview of this game was 100% correct this time. Cameroon qualified to the quarter-finals after needing the extra time.
This seemed not necessary after the early 2-0 lead obtained in the 28th minute, with goals scored by Mbia and Geremi. Geremi’s goal is a beauty for sure. Tunisia had the spirit and equalized. First they halved Cameroon’s lead in the 35th minute. It was another free kick goal, this time scored by the Tunisian Ben Saada. The equalizer came late in the 81st minute and it was superb. Chikhaoui sent a one-touch that smashed into the net.
Cameroon started the extra time as good as the regular time and scored in the 93rd minute. Mbia was again noted down for this goal. Tunisia couldn’t equalize anymore, but it was a dramatic game for sure.

Tunisia 2 – 3 Cameroon [Finished after Extra Time]
19′ [0 - 1] S. Mbia
28′ [0 - 2] Geremi
35′ [1 - 2] C.B. Saada
81′ [2 - 2] Y. Chikhaoui
93′ [2 - 3] S. Mbia

0 – 1 Mbia kicks the ball into the net from close range after a high cross.
0 – 2 Geremi scores a superb goal from a perfect curled free kick .
1 – 2 Ben Saada pulls one back for Tunisia with a great free kick goal.
2 – 2 Chikhaoui equalizes for Tunisia with a one-touch shot from inside of the box, great goal!
2 – 3 Mbia brings Cameroon again in the lead with a volley shot from close range.
