England won in Austria tonight after Peter Crouch’s 44th minute goal. The game had all the ingredients of an international friendly game. Both teams made a lot of substitutions. England lowered the pace in the second half as the youngsters came on the pitch. Ashley Young was a pleasant surprise and Micah Richards seems already a key player for England. David Beckham played about an hour and had a pleasant appearance.
Austria proved toinght once again that they will play at the EURO 2008 only because they are the host nation. The hosts din not look as a competitive side from my point of view. Watch the highlights in the embedded videos.
