Although Barcelona have offered Samuel Eto’o a new contract, Mark Hughes is still confident of landing the Cameroon striker.
Hughes commented:
“We have to sit back and see what develops. Patience is a word that has been mentioned – we may need some.”
Eto’o has been at the Nou Camp for 5 years and it was widely assumed he was going to leave at the end of the season. Barcelona had already gone on record as saying he does not feature in their future plans. He can leave for free at the end of next season, so it would certainly seem a strange move for Barcelona to now be considering holding onto him, rather than taking £20m+ now.
